Hospice Volunteers

Volunteers are the "Heart of Hospice." They provide special comfort to our patients and are an important part of the patient care team. In addition to visiting with patients there are many other valuable services volunteers provide to Wuesthoff Hospice & Palliative Care. There are a number of volunteer opportunities available to anyone with a big heart and time to share:

  • Patient/Family Care
  • Transportation
  • Grief Support
  • Office/Clerical
  • Wuesthoff Hospice Care Center
  • Teen
  • Dog Therapy
  • Music Therapy
  • Community Outreach
Volunteers choose the area(s) they are most interested in and the amount of time they are willing to contribute to Hospice.

How Can I Become a Hospice Volunteer?

You start the process by letting us know of your interest. Call 321-253-2222 and ask to speak to a Volunteer Coordinator. Those interested must attend a free training course that provides a comprehensive overview of Hospice care and services. A portion of the training is provided as a self-study to be completed at home. Volunteer training courses are conducted several times per year in various locations throughout Brevard County.
